Crying & Colic
Crying is communication, even when the message is not obvious. Start with the basics, then offer calm presence rather than trying ten things at once.
A gentle check
- Look for hunger, tiredness, discomfort, temperature or a wet nappy.
- Try holding, rhythmic movement or a quieter room.
- Put baby safely down and take a brief pause if you feel overwhelmed.
- Seek help for unusual, persistent or worrying crying.
You are allowed to need support on hard evenings.
