Milestones
Milestones are useful signposts, not a race. Children often concentrate on one new skill while another seems to pause.
Notice development in everyday life
- Watch movement, communication, play and social connection together.
- Offer safe practice without forcing a skill.
- Talk, read and respond to your child often.
- Share observations at regular health visits.
If you notice loss of a skill or have a concern, speak with your pediatrician rather than waiting for comparison to reassure you.
